Faith and Free
There is something sureal about birds
in the refuge
they gather
and I watch
this is their home
and they know it
I walk on sacred ground
still
unhindered
with symbols of faith
before me
as I watch them in flight
still
waiting for food
they make their move
and their bellies are full
they soar without flinching
they sing with freedom
they display confidence
because they are
they just do
because this is what they know
this is how they were created
and to watch them
is somehow good for my soul
